Never eat alone: how to network
Have you ever had that feeling of being at a conference and, rather than approaching strangers and striking up a conversation, you instead go and stand in a corner or pull out your phone to avoid talking to others? Don't worry, we have all been there. Talking to people you don’t know can be uncomfortable and requires effort, but it can really help you in your work. In this article, we will cover ways in which you can improve your networking skills to start noticing a difference in your work.

Kirsty Henderson the President of Anima International and previously leaded the communications team as a director. During this talk, Kirsty focuses on working with the media as well as promoting internal communication and skill sharing. Kirsty has represented the interests of animals in news outlets around the world including Sky News, Al Jazeera and the BBC. Because of this, she has experienced first-hand the challenges that many animal advocates face when working with the press and aims to help all advocates, but particularly other women in the movement, overcome social fears and confidence blocks to be the best campaigners they can be.
